ugh.

“Outside ideas of right doing and wrong doing there is a field.

I’ll meet you there.” -Rumi

So, I just walked out of the middle of the WOD today. Not on purpose. Nope. No. No idea where my head was at. Just, completed Round 3, somehow thought I was done. Grabbed my ab-mat, and walked out. Went into the double-wide and started some foam rolling.

Can you explain this to me? Because I can’t.

Warm-Up:

Group Dynamic

WOD:

I. “Barbara”

5 Rounds for Time:

20 Pullups

30 Pushups

40 AbMat Situps

50 Air Squats

*Rest 3 Minutes Between Rounds

II. Foam Rolling

Completed: 3 Rounds, with about 2.5 minute rest in between, in 23:50.

Feel incredibly lame about not completing the whole WOD. Ugh. Can’t go back. Should I CF tomorrow night, even though Wednesday is usually my rest day? Dunno. I’ll admit though. My body is hurting. My shoulder is out of whack. My right quad is sore and was having trouble getting moving during the group warmup tonight.

It is one of THE most disheartening feelings, when you ask your body to do something, and it can’t respond at 100%. It brings up so many feelings. Insert a life-time of poor metaphors and negative voices HERE: you start to think your body is a reflection of your attitude towards life, food, work, family. You’re injured because you push too hard, you skip your warmups, you’re eating like crap, you’re trying to prove too much, you’re too old, you start so strong, you burn out too fast, you never finish anything. Frankly, why do you even bother.

You see where this is going. We’ve all been there.

How do you cut yourself some slack and still do your best? No idea.

  1. I assumed you had some place you needed to be! I think you are answering your own questions in your post. See you Thursday or Friday? 😉
