“Things don’t go wrong and break your heart so you can become bitter and give up. They happen to break you down and build you up so you can be all that you were intended to be.”
― Charles Jones, Life is Tremendous
With so much time spent focused on things falling a part and breaking and coming to an end, I forgot what it is like to come together with others and create, to plug my head and my heart into a team and build.
Tonight I helped to coach my first bootcamp class. For the first time in a long time I was able to forget about my job coming to an end, forget that I had to clean out my desk, forget that I was taking part in the longest goodbye, forget that I was on crutches.
Instead, tonight, I was asked to focus on building relationships with new people. I was asked to plug in, to connect, to help and teach something – to share something that makes me happy with others.
So this is what it feels like to be a part of a team. Oh, how I forgot.
Oh, how I needed to remember.
