Out the door you go.

What was the greatest risk you took in 2013? What was the outcome?

You can’t see the future, so you have no idea how anything is going to turn out. Planning is great fun and full of hope, but you really have very little control on the end result. What will be will be. It is wise to adjust expectations accordingly. Even better, have no expectations. Hope for the best, plan to your best abilities.

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” ― T.S. Eliot

The risk foremost in my mind from 2013 is letting go of a comfortable job without any place to land. Despite opportunities within a changing organization I chose the exit. Something inside of me said it was time; your time here is done, there is nothing left here for you to do. There is something new out there for you. You can’t see it or taste it – but it’s out there.

Have some faith. Just a little bit.

So I did.

Without the security of knowing where you are going or what you will be doing or where you will land – sometimes you must put one foot in front of the other and out the door you go.

“We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.”
― Joseph Campbell

My outcome is still to be determined.
